This month, Phase II defended its title against Phase I as the reigning champions of the Turning Point intramural basketball league.  With program directors coaching, clients, Support Staff & Case Managers playing, it was an all-around great time game.

“It showed me how much fun I can have in sobriety, and with sober friends,” Phase II client, Pavel C. said. Health & Wellness is a central component of the Turning Point program, and the basketball game really tested everyone’s cardio. “I love getting on the court and competing,” Phase I Case Manager, Zach P. said. “It was a great experience for everyone and the guys really enjoyed it.”

At Turning Point, we believe it is crucial for young men in early sobriety to learn to have fun and enjoy life without the use of drugs or alcohol.  Our sober recreation activities give clients the opportunity to re-claim some of the healthy leisure activities they enjoyed prior to being derailed by substance use issues.   “It was a great opportunity to get out and about and have some fun, while getting some physical exercise,” Recreation Coordinator Cameron B. said.
