Turning Point Announces New Outpatient Treatment Center to Compliment Young Men Extended Care & Sober Living Program

Turnbridge is pleased to announce the opening of Center for Change

Turnbridge is pleased to announce the opening of Center for Change, an outpatient substance abuse and behavioral health center designed specifically for our population of young men who have recently completed a residential treatment program. "We now have the ability to offer a higher level of clinical services to the young men transitioning to Turnbridge from inpatient drug treatment," said David Vieau, President and Founder of Turnbridge. "Phase I residents will attend IOP three days per week while less intensive outpatient groups, such as anger management and relapse prevention, are offered in Phases II & II. One-on-one therapy and participation in our laboratory-supported drug testing program are mandatory in all three phases of the program." Designed by experienced clinicians and clinical researchers who have worked with Turnbridge for a number of years, Center for Change is a licensed outpatient facility that provides comprehensive and individualized treatment programs designed to treat both substance use disorders and associated psychological problems. "Just because a young man meets with a therapist a few times during 28-day inpatient treatment doesn't necessarily mean his emotional issue are resolved," said Andy Buccaro, Executive Director of Center for Change. "He may have a few weeks of sobriety under his belt, but in most cases he's really just scratched the surface in terms of dealing with the underlying issues. And because the average length of stay at Turnbridge is ten months, in most cases we're able to make significant progress when it comes to these co-occurring disorders." Conveniently located on the top two floors of the historic Palladium Building in the heart of New Haven's business district and within a short distance of Turnbridge's residential facilities, Center for Change offers an environment designed to support healing and growth. Believing that the therapeutic process begins the moment the client enters through the doors,  we have developed a setting that puts our residents at ease and prepares them for the healing process of change.
